Resources

Child Mind Institute outlines various ways to recognize and respond to mental health illnesses in the classroom. Their site is organized and easy to understand with various tools for education. Futhermore, they have real-life stories from people who have experienced a mental health condition.

Teach for America has a great collection of resources for teachers. Materials range from videos, to books, and even a meditation with Lizzo! There are songs, poems, and so much more available to show your students.

While Teach Starter isn't a mental health based organization, they offer a great list of mindfulness activities for the classroom. Some of these projects require materials, but others can be done anywhere, anytime! This list is mostly aimed towards younger students.

Teachers and school staff need to take care of themselves too! Teach.com offers a variety of mental health apps, communities, books, and other media to help teachers and staff maintain a healthy state of mind.

TWLOHA: Between the Bells is a week-long program for high schoolers to help them "spark authentic conversations about mental health" and let students know they aren't alone. Currently, students can bring this program to their school at no cost.
